Definitely not Ladies and Gentlemen providing the service
Latitude – set the scene: 6/10
Located in the centre of Budapest overlooking the park at Erzsébet Square and Budapest Eye. It takes around 15 minutes to walk to sights such as the parliament, so I would mention that its not the most ideally located hotel for sightseeing, but taking a taxi around the city is very accessible.
Style and ambiance: 8/10
Very standardised Ritz Carlton style, bright and elegant, I would say that it is lacking an authentic touch to its decor.
One must emphasise the disappointment of the service, one didn’t feel hospitable or valued at all throughout the stay. Especially as Ritz Carlton is supposed to be known for its genuine and finesse personalised service. The hotel therefore lacks the Ritz Carlton values that are present in so many other properties. The hotel missed my request when I made the reservation such as extra towels and denial kit in room, which for a five star hotel is a basic.
Where the magic happens – Rooms / Suites: 8/10
Large rooms, with luxury Asprey amenities, as expected from a Ritz Carlton hotel. Overlooking the courtyard, not pleasant such a pleasant view but one was able to get some quietness during the stay.
One only chose to eat breakfast at this property. One would say that it was a little disappointing for a hotel of this standard. It was a very basic hotel buffet. Perhaps they could be more generous with their breakfast and not having everything, such as omlette, egg benedick, pancakes, etc, at an extra charge.
Is it worth the money?: 4/10
Overall one would say no. If one ever visited Budapest again, one would look at other hotels in town with a more opulence and authentic offering.
Average stay, nothing particularly special about this Ritz Carlton property. Terrible food is always expected from Ritz Carlton but the service has put the Ritz Carlton name on shame.
