“Good location, but without any substance.”
Latitude – set the scene: 7/10
Located in the heart of the city. Only minutes away from the most iconic historical site in Greece, such as the Acropolis and Parthenon. Swell as being situated in the major shopping district; Hotel Grande Bretagne is ideal for both sightseeing and a bit of retail therapy.
Style and ambiance: 8/10
The period style of the hotel represents the history and heritage of the region with breathtaking views of the fabled Acropolis, regal Syntagma Square and the Parliament. One must visit the rooftop pool boasting stunning views of the Mount Lycabettus.
Staff at the concierge and the Butler were exceptional. However, the compliments cannot exceed to other departments, notably staff at the reception were inhospitable.
Where the magic happens – Rooms / Suites: 4/10
One stayed in the classic room, which was extremely small and one has to request for a room change due to the small window overlooking the courtyard with poor air circulation. The second room had a balcony, yet the room was much smaller in size.
Is it worth the money?: 5/10
Unfortunately, this hotel falls far short from expectations. Tiny rooms and poor service were some of the focal disappointments.
